ガザで行方不明になっているBBC記者の解放を求める署名

BBC記者のアラン・ジョンストンさんがガザで行方不明になってから、１ヶ月経ってしまった。ジョンストンさんは３月12日、BBCのオフィスから自宅に向かう途中で何者かに連れ去られたと考えられており、行方不明になって以降、一切の情報がない。犯行声明の類もないし、ジョンストンさんが無事でおられるのかどうかすらもわからない。

ジョンストンさんが消えてから３週間となった今月２日、BBCはオンライン・ペティションを開始した。同じ日にガーディアンにもペティションが掲載された（全面広告の形）。このペティションはいったん５日に締め切られ、世界中から8000人以上が署名した。

しかしその後何ら進展は見られず、４月11日にBBCは再度、ペティションをBBCのサイトに掲載した。

署名するには、↑のURLのフォームに、名前（ローマ字で半角英字で）とメールアドレス、在住している都市名（「東京」ならばTokyo, Japanと入力）を入れて送信。（名前と都市名は、おそらく公表されます。）

概略：
2007年３月12日（月）、BBCのオフィスを出て自宅に向かったジョンストンさんの車が、ガザ市で見つかった。パレスチナではジョンストンさんは誘拐されたとの報道があったが、BBCは即時にそれを事実と判断することはできなかった。

ガザでは過去にも誘拐事件は発生してきたが、数時間ないし数日のうちには誘拐された人は危害を加えられずに無事に解放されてきた。ジョンストンさんの事件では数日経っても何も進展がなく、当初BBCが考えていたよりも事態は深刻であることが明白になった。

事件の翌週から、月曜日には、ジョンストンさんの身柄解放を求めるデモがガザで行なわれるなどしているし、パレスチナのジャーナリストたちも自治政府はちゃんと動くべきと公的に発言しているが、そのまま動きはない。犯行声明も、身代金の要求もなく、誰がジョンストンさんを誘拐したのかも不明である。

電源落として寝るべと思っていたところにbreaking news。取り急ぎいくつか記事を見てみた。

報道各社にFAXもしくはメールで（＜媒体・記事によってばらつきがある）「氏はすでに死んでいる」という連絡が入ったらしい。

各記事によると、この犯行声明の送信主は、「タウヒード（団結／統合）とジハード旅団」と名乗るパレスチナの武装集団。これまでその存在は知られていない。（BBCではthe Al Tawhid Al Jihad brigade, タイムズではthe Brigades of Tawheed and Jihad, テレグラフではThe Brigades of Holy War and Unity＜これは英訳、PAは引用符つきで"The brigades of Tawheed and Jihad"と表記している。）

「タウヒードとジハード」といえばイラクのザルカウィの組織の名称だった。「アルカイダ系」の記号といってもいいのかもしれない。しかしこれはパレスチナだ。それが本気の名称なのなら（勝手に、なおかつ適当に恐ろしげな名称を名乗っているとかいう可能性もあるのだが）、これは非常によくない。というか、陰惨な見取り図しか頭に浮かばない。あるいは・・・という陰謀論思考も可能だが、あえて陰謀論思考をすべき意味は私には見出せない。

イラクでも「殺した」という声明が何者かによって出されてから「生存している」という証拠が出されたりしたことがあったので、ジョンストンさん殺害声明の内容が本当なのかどうかもまだ何もわからないと考えるべきだろう。

１時間ほど、メディアの記事が更新されるのを待ってみたが、新情報は特に出ないような感じなのでいったんここまで。以下は現時点で出ている記事のいくつか。
