今週の「われわれは絶対に負けない」（※武装勢力ではないほう）

……いくらなんでもそれは無理筋、という部分はおそらく「釣り」だろうけれども、それにしてもあまりに無理筋すぎて、アクロバティックだ。

アイルランド共和国のサッカー協会（FAI）がFIFAのブラッター会長と面会し、「2010年ワールドカップでのアイルランド共和国の出場枠」などを求めた。

A lot was discussed at the meeting and at one stage the FAI asked if Ireland could be accommodated into the World Cup 2010. ...

「無理筋」というのはこの「出場枠」のことだが（仮にアンリの「神の手」からのゴールが無効になったとしてもホーム＆アウェイで1-1なのだから……ブラッターは「一応話はしてみる」的なことは言っているけれども）、FAIはこういう「目くらまし」的なものとあわせていろいろと別なことも要求しており、一部はひょっとしたら通るのかなあ、という雰囲気の反応がブラッターから出ている。

「いろいろと別なこと」というのは：
- FIFA国際試合での審判の増員（ゴールラインのところにもう1人）
- 重要な試合でのビデオ技術のよりいっそうの活用（further use of video technology）
- あからさまな反則をさせないような仕組みづくり
- 重要な試合での審判選定の強化

ブラッター会長は記者会見で「審判増員」や「ビデオ」については検討してみることになっていると述べているらしい。詳細は各記事を参照。

The president of football's world governing body added that goal-line technology and extra referees would be considered for the South Africa finals.

The executive committee will hold an emergency meeting in Cape Town on Wednesday, two days ahead of the draw for the finals, to assess the idea of extra match officials.

Blatter, who was speaking on Monday at the opening of the Soccerex business conference in Johannesburg, said that the possibility of fielding additional referees would also be debated by the executive committee when it holds an emergency meeting on Wednesday. The idea is known to have powerful support from within the game, with the backing of, among others, Uefa's president, Michel Platini. If Fifa's executive committee is convinced of its merits, the proposal will go before football's rule-making International Board in Zürich in March for a final decision.

で、ブラッターの発言を見ていると、「アンリが故意に反則を犯した」ことになっているっぽいのだけど、アンリ本人はそうは言っていなくて（反射で手が出てしまった、と弁明している）、それ以前に、プレイヤーのハンドを見落とすような審判であっても「審判の判断が最終である」という金科玉条を問わなければならないということであっちこっちで声が上がっている（ラグビーやテニスでできてることがサッカーではできないというのはおかしい、という主旨で）ということを踏まえているのだろうか、という気になるのだが、そこらへんは記事の書き方の問題もあるだろう。

なお、私が見た中で最もセンセーショナルな書きっぷりをしているのは、ベルテレさんだ。非常に東スポっぽい。

ちなみに、審判の見落としで反則負けしたアイルランド共和国に出場権を認める場合、同じく審判の見落としで反則負け（相手のオフサイドが認められた）したコスタリカにも出場権を認めなければならなくなってしまうのだそうだ（それはない、という方向でブラッターは語っているようだが）。

Sources in Ireland privately acknowledged that they are not expecting their request to be successful, but said they have also asked Fifa to consider compensating them in some other way in future, perhaps by seeded them in the draw for the 2014 finals.

つまり、「南ア大会の出場枠をよこせ」というのははなっから無理筋とわかってて別なことを交渉するための材料であり、その「別なこと」というのは、2014年本大会のシード権（それで今回の不公正な結果の弁償とする）、という……。

なんだかなー。
