ポカポカ春庭の言葉と文化逍遥記「アーサービナード出世ミミズ」
言語に厳格な後世の学者は、チャップマンの英語訳は正確ではない、と非難する。また、キーツの「読書感想詩」にもまちがいがある、と指摘する。…しかし、ビナードは「それがどうした」と、書いている。
→もう少し引用すると、
「キースの詩が表現しようとしているのは、偉大な文学作品をはじめて読んだときのこころのふるえ。すぐれたことばの世界に心から感動したときの「個人的な発見」なのだ、と、ビナードはいう。
「キーツが表現しようとしているのは、未知のものに心を動かされたときの個人的な発見だ。そういう意味では、太平洋の発見は何度でも。」
