バスラの戦闘に英軍が参加しました。イラク軍からの要請に応じて、民兵側の迫撃砲の発射地点に砲撃を行なったとのこと。BBCの第一報：

これまで行なっていた空からの援護は偵察で、攻撃は今回が初めてだそうです。

別のBBC記事には、イラク全土で今回の作戦での死者は少なくとも200人とあります。本当に最悪です。
